What this site is
MySmallBusiness.us started as a single funnel selling business funding. It is now an independent review site for the whole category of things a small business gets sold — working capital, phone handling, employee benefits, card processing, software subscriptions, insurance, marketing services and legal filings.
The premise is simple. A small business owner makes a few dozen recurring buying decisions a year, most of them under pressure, most of them against a salesperson who knows the product far better than they do. Almost every comparison site serving that owner is a thin affiliate directory dressed up as journalism. We think there is room for one that shows its working.
How every review is built
- A published rubric. Five weighted criteria, the same for a $19 app and a $5M credit facility. Every score breaks down into it, so you can disagree with one number and see exactly what it moves.
- A relationship label, above the score. We own it, it pays us commission, or it pays us nothing. In colour, before you read a word of the verdict.
- An evidence tier. Hands-on, operator reports, or desk review. We will not imply we ran something we only read about.
- A “do not buy if” section. Every review has one. If we cannot write it, we do not understand the product well enough to review it.
What we cover today
3 products reviewed across 3 of 8 categories, plus 15 guides and 6 calculators. We open a category when we have something to say that the vendors' own pages do not already say — so the empty ones stay empty rather than shipping filler.

The bias we cannot remove
Here is the honest limitation. Publishing a rubric stops compensation from moving a score. It does not stop compensation from moving our attention — we built out funding, phones and benefits first precisely because those are the three we already had relationships in.
That is a real bias, it is structural, and the only remedy is to keep adding categories where we earn nothing. That is what the eight-category taxonomy is for, and you should judge us on how quickly the unpaid ones fill in.
Corrections
Prices change, vendors improve, and we get things wrong. Email [email protected] with the page and the correction. We fix errors in place and note material changes at the top of the review. We do not quietly delete things.
